In the Fall of 2006, our entire department went through a comprehensive training dealing with hazardous materials. At the end of the 2 week course, all personnel are now Haz-Mat Technicians.
Part of our training consists of working with ropes. We strive to stay up to date with high angle rope rescue and other various rescues dealing with ropes.

We recently acquired some new stabiliztion tools for our Rescue 1 truck. These Res-Q-Jacks were just delivered to us. Before we can put them into service, our department must be properly trained on their use. They will be primarily used for vehicle stabilization when extrication is involved. Many departments across the country are using this innovative tool as their choice for stabilization.
